Mono Y Mono

Steve Mono Leather Goods
Steve Mono is a beautifully crafted leather goods brand out of Madrid by Gonzalo Fonseca. A little about the brand:

"Shapes, materials, finishing are inspired by classic, easy and cool pieces I've seen many times in vintage photo's, books or movies; The kind of briefcases and wallets that men took to their work in office buildings, and that remind  me of that school boy-man look"( I had to paraphrase a bit because his english isn't that great).

Works for me! I've seen some of the pieces on Opening Ceremony's online shop and have always wanted to know more about the brand. Thanks anothersomething for the hot tip!

Killing It

I played Pap the other day and noticed this Ole' Chap chillin, reading the paper and looking pretty clean. I really wanted to get a close up shot of him in an actual pose but he looked like he didn't want to be bothered. I waited till he was engaged in his read and then...Snap! I just loved his look, grandpa but refined. He was in all the classics like the Lacoste V neck, crisp white bd, antique watch, trousers of exceptional fabric and tasseled loafers. Granted, we were in a research library but he'd be damned if he wasn't going to look good hitting the books. This shot doesn't really do him justice but I never said I was a street-style photographer.

The Limits of Control

The latest film from director Jim Jarmusch(Ghost Dog,Broken Flowers) is a stylish thriller that follows the main character(Isaach De Bankole) through Spain as he embarks on his dangerous and mysterious mission. If you can sit through the drawn out plot-line and minimal dialogue it's actually pretty entertaining and beautifully shot, not to mention a pretty amazing cast.
